Notes from the Midnight Driver by Jordan Sonnenblick

"One measly little car crash. And suddenly, I'm some kind of convicted felon."

Alex is the Midnight Driver in Sonnenblick's novel. Even though it seemed like a good idea at the time, Alex took his mom's car after taking some of his dad's vodka. After all, he just needed to talk to his dad about the impending divorce. No one would be on the roads at midnight. Alex was busted without a license for decapitating Mrs. Wilson's lawn gnome.

Notes from the Midnight Driver is not just the story following the lawn gnome incident where Alex accepts the responsibility and consequences for his actions. It's an, at times, hilarious journey with his guitar, his best friend, Laurie, and the friendship of a lifetime.

Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson

Inside the front cover of Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson is a most intriguing teaser. "Everybody told me to be a man. Nobody told me how."

Tyler is a junior in high school who pulled a prank at school that got him in enough trouble where court-ordered hours of community service were the only things that could make things right again. Read Twisted to see how Tyler learns about making choices that help him become a man. "Note: This book is not for children."
